The Monster on Misty Mountain


This one is for my good friend :iconwinip: who is one excellent artist.



This is the title page for a book published back in 1989. It was one of four books in the Dumpies series. The books were not the most popular thing I ever did. I was told children's science fiction generally does not sell well, but I still have a soft spot for these little chaps.

That has to be one of the best monster designs I've seen. I really like the way you drew the feet and the wings. The dumpies expressions are wonderful. It's a shame more people aren't into children's science fiction, it's such a fun genre.

You're art makes me want to paint more! great job
